Medicare guidance · Marion & Polk Counties

Medicare can be complicated.
It doesn’t have to feel that way.

I help people understand their Medicare choices, how different types of coverage work, and what to consider before making a decision.

Start with your situation

Help understanding what applies to you

You do not need to know which Medicare plan or type of coverage you want before reaching out. We can start with where you are now and what is changing.

My role is to explain the choices clearly, help you identify the details that matter to your situation, and help you navigate the next steps.

Common reasons to reach out

  • You are turning 65 or becoming eligible for Medicare.
  • You are retiring or leaving employer coverage.
  • You want to understand Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
  • You need help understanding prescription drug coverage.
  • You are considering Medicare Supplement coverage.
  • You have both Medicare and Medicaid/OHP.
  • Your current coverage is changing or no longer working well for you.
  • Your situation is complicated and you are not sure where to start.
Understanding Medicare

The main pieces of Medicare coverage

There are several ways Medicare coverage can fit together. Understanding the basic structure makes it easier to know what questions to ask.

Original Medicare

Medicare Part A covers inpatient hospital care and certain other services. Part B covers physician services, outpatient care, and other medical services. Many people add separate prescription drug and supplemental coverage.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are offered by private Medicare-approved insurance companies as another way to receive Medicare-covered benefits. Plan networks, costs, drug coverage, and additional benefits can differ.

Prescription & supplement coverage

Part D plans provide prescription drug coverage. Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policies can help with certain out-of-pocket costs under Original Medicare. Eligibility, timing, and available options matter.

Local & referral-based

A community-based approach to Medicare help

I have spent more than 15 years helping Oregonians understand health coverage, including people moving between OHP, employer coverage, Marketplace coverage, and Medicare.

Much of my work comes from referrals by existing clients and community organizations. I focus on clear communication, complicated coverage situations, and helping people get through barriers that can make insurance difficult to navigate.

Helping someone who needs Medicare assistance?

I welcome referrals from clinics, hospitals, community organizations, service providers, and existing clients.

The simplest approach is to give the person my contact information or send them to this page so they can call, text, email, or schedule a conversation directly.
